Bulloch, James Stephen (1793-1849)
Bulloch, James Stephen (1793-1849) – His great-grandfather was James Bulloch (1701-1780) who arrived in America in 1729 and married (1) Jean Stobo, (2) Anne Ferguson, (3) Anne Graham, and (4) Mary Jones, daughter of Noble Jones of Savannah, Georgia. His grandfather was Archibald Bulloch, son of James and Jean Stobo Bulloch and first president of the Georgia Council of Safety, who married Mary DeVeaux. Their children were James Bulloch (1761-1806), Archibald Stobo Bulloch, and William Bulloch. James Bulloch married Anne Irvine, and their children were John Irvine Bulloch, James Stephen Bulloch, and Jane Bulloch. James Stephen Bulloch married Hester Amarintha Elliott (1797-1827), daughter of U.S. Senator John and Esther Dunwody Elliott of Liberty County. Their only child was James Dunwody Elliott. His second marriage was to Martha Stewart Elliott, daughter of Brigadier General Daniel Stewart of Liberty County (see Martha Stewart in this appendix).
