Caswell, Paul Edward (1907-1998)

Major Paul E. Caswell, graduated from Bradwell Institute in 1925, and the Uni­versity of Georgia with a LLB Degree in 1930. He was a state representative from 1935 to 1937, and the Judge of the Hinesville City Court from 1949 to 1962. He was solicitor general of the Atlantic Judicial Circuit from 1962 to 1966, and a Judge of Superior Courts, Atlantic Judicial Circuit, from 1966 until he retired in 1976.

 

He was captain of the Liberty Independent Troop (Troop B, 108th Cavalry, Geor­gia National Guard) from 1935 to World War II, and assistant adjutant general of the Georgia National Guard from 1937 to 1939. He was commander of Battery B, 101st Separate Coast Artillery Battalion (Anti-Aircraft), U.S. Army, which participated in the East Indies, Papuan, and New Guineas campaigns in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II.
