Fraser, Joseph B. Jr.

No one person did more to promote the general welfare of his fellow citizens in Liberty County from 1930 to 1940 than did Joseph B. Fraser Jr. During the worst economic depression America had ever known, he worked tirelessly in the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and with various state and federal programs to help alleviate the suffering of the people of Liberty County.

He was a staunch supporter of the Liberty Independent Troop and the Georgia National Guard. He organized, promoted, and took part in civic affairs, like various celebrations at Midway Church, and just his presence at such gatherings gave more dignity to the affair. He was the spirit of the Liberty County Fair. He rose from second lieutenant to lieutenant general in the Georgia National Guard, and saw combat in World Wars I and II. He achieved because he gave so much of himself to the service of others.
