Mallard (Family)

This family line was commenced in Liberty County by Lazarus Mallard (1748-1814) before the Revolutionary War. Some of the family members were officials of Midway Church and the Midway Society (see Appendix Number 6). This brief genealogy traces the line of descent of Thomas and John Mallard (see Norman Fam­ilies in appendix).

The direct line of descent of Thomas Mallard (1778-1861) is Thomas Samuel Mallard (1816-1882), son of Thomas Mallard; Lazurus John Mallard (1820-1877), son of Thomas Mallard; Reverend Robert Quarterman Mal­lard (1830-1904), son of Thomas Mallard (see Appendix Number 19 and John Jones in appendix); William Samuel Mallard (1845-1910), son of Thomas Samuel Mallard; James Bond Mallard Sr., born in 1898, son of Charles Bar­nard Mallard and James Bond Mallard Jr., born in 1925.

The direct line of descent of John Mallard (1776-1810) is John Boyd Mallard Sr. (1808-1877), son of John Mallard; John Boyd Mallard Jr. (1855-1895); Wallace W. Mallard Sr., and Wallace W. Mallard Jr. (1883-1919).
