Martin, R.M. (“Bob”)

He was a newspaper man from Savannah, Georgia, and the son of Matthew and Josephine Moody Martin of Marion, South Carolina.

 

He purchased the Hinesville Gazette in 1893 from Samuel D Bradwell, and changed the name to the Liberty County Herald. He married Sara Bird Martin, the daughter of John Miller and Caroline Eliza Daniel Martin of Taylors Creek, and their children were Robert S. martin and Dorothy E. Martin.

 

R.M. (“Bob”) Martin, was editor and publisher of the Liberty County Herald from 1893 to the 1930’s when it was purchased by N Clark’s dad, who had been working there since 1911.
